A&K M249 “Big Boy” Resurrection

Ridden hard and put a way.... in a box.....in pieces.

This was in really rough shape when I picked it up from the customer. In hindsight I should have documented the process better, but instead you’ll just have to take my word for it.

Lots of stripped screws that needed to be re-tapped to get the barrel, carry handle and stock to mount solid.

The gearbox was provided in parts contained in plastic baggy.

Scrubbed out the gearbox, bonded in new bearings, shimmed in a fresh set of 18:1 gears, updated the compression and bucking and wired in a compact little mosfet wired to deans at the front.

Customer is pleased as punch as it rips like a saw should.
